Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz Mozzarella string cheese Cut in half for perfect size
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Seasoned (can use pork rind crumbs for a fun crunch)

Preparation

  • Slice mozzarella string cheese in half.
  • Set up a dredging station: place flour in one shallow bowl, beaten eggs in another, and seasoned breadcrumbs in a third.
  • Dip each cheese stick in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  • For the double coating, dip it again in the egg and then the breadcrumbs.
  • Place the coated cheese sticks on a tray and freeze for 45 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the frozen cheese sticks for about 2 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a dipping sauce, classic marinara works great or try ranch, sriracha mayo, or garlic butter. Can also freeze uncooked sticks for later use. Bake at 400°F for 8-10 minutes for a healthier option.
